What’s New with MigrationWiz

Whether it’s big changes or lots of little tweaks that help streamline your projects, the team at MigrationWiz is always looking for ways to enhance your migration experience. Here’s a few of the items we’ve been working on the last few months.

More for Your Mailbox Migrations

We’ve added a number of features to MigrationWiz that will give you more control, flexibility, and security over your mailbox migrations, including:

Modern Authentication for Microsoft 365 projects – We’ve embedded enhanced security into Microsoft 365 mailbox migration projects, giving you the ability to set both the client ID and tenant ID for the endpoints. This update includes a thorough ID verification process.

Migrate personal folder and calendar permissions – Now MigrationWiz moves mailbox folder permissions in Microsoft 365 and Exchange Server migrations, and calendar permissions in Google Workspace migrations. This is done automatically without any additional action on your part—just a hands-free process with no need for manual re-application of permissions.

Migrate mailbox rules and automatic replies – For migrations involving Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace, you can now migrate server-side rules and client-side rules for specified conditions and actions. In addition, you can use MigrationWiz to transfer out-of-office messages and other automatic replies. These actions can be done at both the tenant and personal level.

Assign Microsoft 365 licenses to individual users or a group of users – This is an enhanced functionality for regular Microsoft mailbox migrations, and it also automatically creates users in the destination tenant similar to what is done during coexistence migrations. Access this new feature under Source/Destination in Advanced Options.

Migrate Out of Office messages MigrationWiz now has the ability to migrate Automatic Replies from source to destination mailboxes. We are supporting a range of endpoints such as Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft 365, and Google/G-Suite for both tenant level as well as for regular (personal) mailbox settings.

Migrate Gmail SignaturesFor migrations involving the G-Suite, signatures from the source mailbox to the destination can now be moved using MigrationWiz.

Beyond Mailboxes

While you’re enjoying the expanded MigrationWiz capabilities for mailbox migrations, take a look at the functionality we’ve added for documents, OneDrive, and Groups:

More efficient Google Drive to OneDrive migrations – We’ve made significant improvements to the migration process from Google Drive to OneDrive, ensuring a more efficient and effective data transfer.

Google Sheets versioning enhancement for Delta Sync – Now when you’re migrating Google Sheets from Google Drive to OneDrive, version changes are replicated accurately.

More flexibility for OneNote migrations – With improved MigrationWiz capabilities, you can now choose to exclude OneNote files during various migration stages including trial, pre-stage, full migration, and retry errors.

Move Groups with ease – The migration process from Google Groups to Microsoft 365 Groups has been significantly streamlined. We’ve improved the Microsoft 365 Groups endpoint to make it easier to migrate conversations and members.
