December 2024 Product Updates
Year-end is a time of lists – top 10 lists, gift lists, and even your algorithmically-generated Spotify playlist. Not to be outdone, the BitTitan product team has delivered a list of MigrationWiz enhancements just in time for your 2025 project planning. There’s something for everyone – as long as you like smooth, fast, accurate migrations.
Performance Enhancements
We’ve introduced several enhancements designed to deliver more efficient migrations:
Google Mailbox issue resolved – You can now use the Google API endpoint for new mailbox migrations without encountering those bothersome throttling issues. Just keep in mind, if you’re in the middle of a mailbox migration using the Gmail IMAP connector, you should continue using that method in order to avoid potential data inconsistencies.
Improved mailbox folder permissions – Check Advanced Options for improved validation that ensures your configurations are correctly applied at setup.
Enhanced public folder stability – We’ve enhanced data access and error handling to provide better access to public folder statistics.
Smarter recipient mapping – Mapping logic is now more consistent with recipient names. You’ll see notable improvements when managing calendar permissions during migrations.
Smoother Google Vault migrations – Experience increased reliability and efficiency, particularly during large-scale Google projects.
Fewer duplicates – We’ve upgraded the watermark function that prevents duplicates. This will result in more efficient and reliable migrations with less post-migration cleanup.
More Fine-tuning and Control
Control and customization are among the top reasons users recommend MigrationWiz. With that in mind, the BitTitan product team added a new feature that gives you manual control over the destination region for Microsoft migrations. You’re now able to choose the specific region – or the nearest region – where your destination is located. This change provides the following benefits:
Better efficiency – Choosing the nearest region will help you optimize migration speed and performance.
Dynamic synchronization – The destination region is automatically updated in Advanced Options under the ‘Preferred Region of Destination Tenant’ dropdown to ensure consistency during project setup.
Easier compliance – Region selection helps you support data residency and compliance requirements like those defined in GDPR.
